Thanks Patrick! I read your and Rob Davies’ article as well and especially loved this passage: “When the house is on fire, we don’t hope to get out or despair that we can’t. We do what is needed to get out, identifying next steps and taking them until we’re out or we’re dead. Resolve is the framework for an emergency.”
It’s a great analogy for the climate emergency we find ourselves in. Neither hoping others or some technology will save us or despairing that either of those won’t and there’s nothing to be done, will ultimately save our house that we call Earth. Only collective action and the resolve to do whatever is necessary will.
