Even if I just have a draft story sitting there on Medium and don’t actually finish it, it still helps spark other ideas I might have about a related subject that I’ll then write on. Most of the time, I’ll suddenly think of an idea to write about, jot down a quick title and maybe subtitle, and then forget about it until I decide I’m ready to write about it (which I do eventually come around to). So, I do think that draft stories, even if no one ever sees them, can help with the brainstorming process a bit.
